About Me

After speaking to mothers from the toddler group I attended, I realised that I was not alone in my experience of having a difficult birth and struggling with post natal depression. Even though every persons journey is different, I felt for the first time I had met other women who I could relate to and there were similarities in our struggles.

I found talking to other people and even writing down my feelings and thoughts was so therapeutic so I decided it might be worth putting a website together with everything I found useful or wish I knew before I had my baby. Maybe this is my form of therapy and if it is somewhat useful to at least one person then that is a bonus.

As a doctor we are taught about being resilient and I am used to providing support to those suffering from depression as a GP but all my training and experience could not have prepared me for what lay ahead after I gave birth.

I hope this website is a means to create open discussion about difficult topics we may not normally talk about and a means for people to share their tips and personal stories.
